In the center foreground are two young shepherdesses, in 18th century costume, one in a blue dress, the other in white and pink. The girl at the left is tying a blue ribbon around the neck of a dove while the one at the right has a sealed envelope to be tied to the ribbon. At the left are sheep and a dog. At the right background is a pedestal with a lion and trees. At the left an open landscape.
