About this object

The scene shows a gate before a country house seen in the far right distance. There are trees surrounding the gate. One the road to the house is a man with some dogs, a horse and a groom. At the far right a man with a red jacket mounted on a bay horse is saying goodbye to his wife and infant daughter, while a small dog plays at their feet. In the center are four horses, three with riders mounted. There are two grooms attending to the horses. The one gray horse in the center is held by a groom while a man standing in front says goodbye to his wife and son. One horse is mounted by a woman in a gray blue habit, the other two by men in dark blue. At the left is a groom holding falcons on a wooden frame suspended from his shoulders. He is followed by the hunting dogs. In the left and center distance is a river crossed by a bridge, leading to a distant village. The sky is blue with a few clouds.
