About this object

Portrait of a lady seen nearly full-length and seated on a sofa over which is thrown a blue cloak with a gold border. The lady has her gray hair dressed high and with a curl over each shoulder. There is an ornament in her hair, on her left side, with pearls and from this three strands of pearls looped about her hair and one curl. She wears a choker of two strands of pearls with matching bracelets. Her white dress has alternate stripes-widely spaced- of a rinceau in green with pink roses and a band in gold and green. Her belt is in gold set with red, green and blue stones and pearls. Over her shoulder is a red cloak with an ermine collar and lining. In the background above the lady's head is a blue hanging with a gold border and tassel.
