About this object

Painting shows a young man holding a staff in his left hand, walking along a path. There are four shadowy figures surrounding him. There is a woman seated at lower right with a bottle on the ground next to her and holding a leaf out to him. The other three women are arranged behind him. They wear wreaths of leaves around their heads, and the one on the left wraps her arms around him. In the pool in the foreground, there is a reflection of a skull.
