About this object

A portrait of Nedenia Hutton as a child, seen full length facing slightly to the left. She is seated on a garden bench which has a turquoise flowered cushion, and is holding with her arm a miniature schnauzer. Her blonde hair is short and wavy with a turquoise bow at the left. She is wearing a single strand pearl necklace, a yellow dress with a wide collar and decorated with turquoise scrolls and a scalloped lace edge on the short sleeves and knee length hem, with white socks and white strap shoes. In the background is the bottom of a classical column at upper right, at far right a branch of a tree, and at left a fountain in the distance.
