About this object

This evening gown is constructed in pale celadon colored corded lace trimmed with lamb's wool. The sleeveles lace bodice is cut in a deep V neckline at front and back. The front "V" is filled with a slightly gathered lace inset that is secured to a full length satin slip. The lace at the shoulders and at front and back center waist is tightly gathered. A flared lace skirt with a slight train is attached to both bodice and slip at the waistline. The skirt is trimmed with shaped, horizontal bands of gray lamb's wool backed with satin. Wide bands of nylon horsehair are placed on the inside of the skirt to provide stiffening and to support the lamb's wool trim. The garment closes on the left side with a metal zipper.
