About this object

This high waisted gown fits close to body under the bust, and flares to a wide bell shape with an asymmetrical hem. The lace bodice has a square cut neckline and small shoulder straps. The fabric at the sleeves has been cut or torn away, with only a fragment remaining. The skirt is decorated on the right with individually punched rhinestones. At left is an embroidered celadon colored scarf which wraps around the body and attaches at right below rhinestones, as indicated by remaining threadmarks. The scarf is edged in rolled silk velvet fringe. The left side of skirt has an organza inset decorated with flat ribbon and a large band of lace.
