About this object

High waisted Edwardian party gown with a narrow sheath underskirt of plain silk charmeuse and a multilayered overskirt of silk lawn. Bottom layer of overskirt consists of white lawn heavily trimmed with bands of flat lace, clear bugle beads, pale pink satin ribbon and bright pink ribbon flowers. The pale pink top layer of the overskirt is encrusted at the hem with pearl beads and a floral motif composed of cloth flowers and leaves embroidered with metallic thread and accented with rhinestone centers. An asymmetrical overdrape of light blue/turqouise lawn is edged with the same floral motif . A second, shorter overdrape of lace completes the skirt . The same lace is used for the bodice, which is built on a white lawn foundation with boning and taffeta bust enhancer. The short, full lace sleeves cover a white lawn undersleeve edged with miniature pearls and ending in pearl tassels. A pale turqouise satin waist sash backed with bright pink satin closes on the left side with a decorative oval medallion of the same pink ribbon flowers used to trim the underskirt.
