About this object

This high waisted evening dress is constructed in a sheer turquoise moiré through which with an intense orange-gold silk foundation is visible. A decorative free-hanging bolero is heavily embroidered with silk cotton floss thread and flat silk ribbon cord. Beading at the neck is repeated at the edges of the short, puffed sleeves. A wide waist sash is decorated at center front with flat ribbon cord and embroidery in an open design over orange tulle. Long trumpet ties edged in silk cotton thread and embroidered at lower edge hang from the waist sash. The skirt is decorated with the same embroidery motif used on bolero.
