About this object

Exquisite lingerie jacket composed of various pieces of cut lace and embroidery seamed together with handstitching, embroidery and tatting. Details of several floral patterns and shapes are interwoven throughout the garment and carried through to the edge. This jacket could have been worn with any of the lingerie gowns in the collection, (48.16, 48.17, 48.18), and similarities in the sewing techniques, measurements and style of these garments indicate that they may have been ordered as a group and worn interchangeably.
