About this object

This short-sleeved dressing gown is made of peach silk crêpe with lace and cutwork accents at the waist, sleeves, and skirt. The bodice has small shoulder tucks that extend into the body of the garment. On the skirt, the top edge of the lace is cut and machine embroidered at the knee area while the bottom portion of the lace hangs free at the lower edge. Two pleated, bell-shaped pieces of fabric extend over each other to form the sleeves. The garment closes on the left front side with a fabric loop and pearl shank button. A tie and fabric loop closes the interior right side. The dressing gown also has an attached wide fabric belt that ties at the center front.
