About this object

Cotton shirt/jacket, square-shaped body with shoulder-back yoke and collar of teal and long sleeves of green cotton. The body is decorative with two horizontal band inserts. The upper band of colored white, black, orange, and yellow with patchwork geometric patterns-black, yellow, teal, and orange made in the typical tradition of Seminole Indians of Palm Beach, FL. The lower consists of red, white, blue, and orange with geometric patterns in teal and orange. The shirt is further decorated with thin cotton trim of red, black, yellow, and pink applied above and below the insets. The body of the garment is gathered into a shoulder-back yoke and has an attached wide fall collar. The long sleeves of green are decorated with same design as the body of the garment. The sleeves are gathered into a wide cuff. The garment has no closures.
