About this object

Theatrical Indian Warrior breastplate. The breastplate is made up of a strip of leather. Within each section there are six tubular-shaped ivory (whatchamacallits?). In each section the ivory runs perpendicular to the next. Two groupings of three (?) with a single medium blue bead at the top and a light blue bead and white bead below hang free decoration at the base of the garment on each side. The garment has a large beaded band with symbols woven into it. The design and beading is similar to the loin cover belt. The beaded band is worn around the neck and a cloth cord ties around the waist. One cord is missing.
