About this object

A round white linen tablecloth. The center of the cloth has a small piece of linen surrounded by a large circle of filet lace in a rococo design of alternating figures. One set of figures is of two reclining garbed women with two putti above. This scene alternates with two unclothed women flying away from each other. Over their heads are two unclothed men with their backs to each other. Outside of the filet area is a large expanse of linen with 16 oval insets, 8 are in filet of a woman with flowers and 8 are of a man in rustic clothes with a staff or hoe. Surrounding all the inset is elaborate white embroidery and cutwork. The edge of the tablecloth is of scalloped filet lace.
