About this object

Rectangular tablecloth made of ecru lace and linen. Outer edge of floral filet lace, with wide inner band of linen with scrolling cutwork filled with reticella bars and ovals and large insets of filet lace depicting Venus with putti. The next band consists of narrow needle lace insertions framing wide bobbin tape lace, inset with many small filet ovals of urns and portraits, with Venise needle lace flower baskets in corners and Venise male portraits. The center panel is inset with filet portraits with lettering and figures of children at play in Venise needle lace with more cutwork.
