About this object

A runner made of linen and lace. It is edged with 2 1/2 inch filet lace with a scalloped edge and a floral design. The center is linen with cutwork scrolls designs around the edge. Venise needle lace insets of roses with bows are placed at center of sides. Curving sprays of flowers in needle lace, also on sides, are alternated with filet insets of flower sprays and harbor scenes with a sailboat. An inset of Venise needle lace at each end depicts a classical female figure playing a lyre.
