About this object

A white linen four piece bedding set which consists of a sheet and three pillow cases. The central design element if the Davies crest which is created with applique and white work embroidery. Above the crest is an applique large scrolling leaf spray with accents of drawnwork. Two rows of drawnwork emanate from either side of the leaf spray and continues to the corner design elements. The corner designs are of an appliqued leaf and flower motif. There is a Vieux Flandre lace edging on all pieces of the set. The design of the lace has scrolls of tape lace surrounded by pomegranite type flowers and other flowers. Shadings are created by the use of different size mesh of reseau ordinaire and petit reseau. There are also accents of many types of fillings to the lace. The pillow cases have buttons that run along the opening of the back of the case.
