About this object

A white linen and cotton bed sheet. The major design elements are at the top of the sheet and consist of embroidery, applique, needle and bobbin lace. There is an embroidered and appliqued Davies crest. The shield of the crest is appliqued and has lions and a raised fist in embroidered satin stitch. Below the crest and running along the top and both sides, are appliqued and embroidered geometric shapes. Between these shapes are openwork rectangles with mesh filling stitches outlined with tape lace that forms a lattice design.
