About this object

This is a 14 piece set of bed linens and consists of 9 pillow cases and 5 sheets. The sheets are white linen with a 4 inch hemstitch fold that runs across the top and 39 inches on each side. Two inches from this fold is the major design element of an appliqued panel of flowers and leaves that is separated by rectangular panels of bobbin lace. The bobbin lace central motif is of scrolling buds framed with bobbin spiders. The mesh is a point ground. Framing these panels on the top and bottom are 1/2 rectangles of applique separated with a circle of applique that is highlighted with drawnwork. Above this design element is an eight inch tall Davies crest. This has the raised fist in satin stitch above the shield with three lions also in satin stitch. Below the shield is the banner in applique monogrammed INTEGRITAS AUDACIA. The nine pillow cases have the same design except that the applique flowers are of a single flower surrounded by leaves. There are eight mother of pearl buttons that run along the back opening of the pillow cases.
