About this object

A late 19th century dark ecru Venise style needle lace flounce. The center design repeats every 8 inches and is composed of drooping iris-like flowers. The lower edge is formed by three different type of flowers that alternate every 8 inches. There are many different fillings to the design. The top attachment edge is straight and has been added probably at the same time, but is not part of the design.
