About this object

An off white Russian bobbin lace mat. This is a rectangular mat in tape lace joined to form a design of a stylized rooster on either side of a stylized double headed eagle. There are point de sprit insertions at the end of the feathers of the roosters and in the eity and feet. In the eagle, the eyes, body and tail have insertions. The background is of a lattice composed of needle lace. The edging is of bobbin lace in a geometric design.
