About this object

A white shaped insertion for lingerie. This is made of silk in a delicate Point de Paris bobbin lace with a design of daisies and scrolled leaves. There is a central peaked area of lace with a design of a garland of daisies. On either side of this are smaller peaks that have a single flower within an irregular cartouche. On each side of these smaller peaks are two more peaks that have a flower with leaves. The fillings throughout the piece are in a Lille bobbin lace and honeycombs. Both ends of the piece are cut.
