About this object

Two ivory silk panels for the edge of a slip or underskirt. The design is of an Art deco nature with floral and ball shapes that resemble blue berries. The appliques are of satin embroidery. The edge is inset with Italian flat needle lace. The art deco balls and shapes are in the technique of reseau Venise, the mesh is in Alencon style bobbin lace. The bars connecting the needle lace are picoted needle lace.
