About this object

One of a pair of square white cotton tablecloths. The center of the cloth is plain, with a row of pale blue embroidery and "compass rose" diamond of mosaic drawnwork and elaborate pale blue embroidery and pulled work. There are motifs at the four corners of the "compass". .2 has a thick border of lace that has an elaborate scroll and flower pattern. The design is of scrolls, flowers, cornucopias, and leaves. Inside this square is an interior square with notched corners in plain linen.
