About this object

An ecru rectangular mat made of a patchwork of machine edgings. The net is needle run and the bobbin lace is of Russian Lille-type lace of the Moscow type. The design is mixed and there are two raised embroidered flowers in two of the corners. One flower is open the other is a bud. Running diagonally across the mat is a handmade heavy net. One corner of the mat has fine muslin as a background for an embroidered flower overlay. The other mesh areas have a design of flowers and leaves.
