About this object

An off white rectangular tablecloth with cutwork and eyelet embroidery. The border is an eight inch wide filet lace in a scalloped flower design. The insets in the cloth are in coarse Venise needle lace, probably Chinese. The design of the insets are flowers. The cloth has a lace border and is attached to a central piece of linen. The linen is decorated with cutwork and lace insets. Around the outer edge are crosses in cutwork. The crosses are alternated with a circular design. At the corners are lace inserts with a leafy pattern. The center of the cloth has an oval pattern of cutwork with lace inserts at the four sides.
