About this object

This rectangular, ecru tablecloth is made with machine-made tapes assembled into a scrolling "Milanese" type design joined with coarse needlelace stitches, fillings and bars. Ovoid insets of Venise needle lace at the corners and long sides depict urns with flowers. An oval medallion in Venise needle lace at center also depicts flowers.
