A bright pink silk backing with 9 pieces of lace attached. .1 is a 17th century Venetian needle lace edging in fine scale and with raised work and picoted bars and joined at the center. There are a few old mends. .2 17th century French or Italian needle lace edging coralline type. It has a fine scale branching design. .3 is an edging with English needle lace and a simple floral design with a looped picot edge. .4 is an edging with very fine tight 17th century Venetian needle lace scrolling design and looped picoted edge with picoted bars with clusters at the intersections. It is cut down at the upper edge. It has a variety of fine filling stitches. .5 is a collar with English needle lace of small scale branching design and an added picot edge and very open work. .6 is a fragment of insertion with Venetian needle lace and a scrolling baroque design, possibly 19th century, with fine work and is very regular. .7 is a fragment of edging with needle lace and raised couronnes in horseshoe loops on bars of knotted picots, probably 19th century. .8 is a fragment of ecru edging with added bobbin narrow picots edges on scallops on one side. The lace is Punto in aria design worked with mezzo punto combined from at least two or more laces to make a piece. .9 is an irregular linen with Venetian needle lace made up as a mat with Burano 19th century baroque motifs and smooth raised outlines and picoted bars and outlines.
