A blue silk backing with six lace pieces attached. .1 is a piece of Burano needle lace edging ca. 1810. It is a streaky mesh with a chain border design and four rows of petals semi in ground. There is a four ring filling throughout the open areas. .2 is a reseau Venise edging ca. 1700. It has elongated sprigs with an edge of many fillings and a very slight scallop. It is probably cut down at the upper edge. This is a very old piece with great variety .3 is a mid 17th century Point de France lace with a variety of fillings and a hexogonal mesh with picots. The picot edge has been replaced. There is raised work. .4 is a narrow Venetian needle lace with "caterpillar" raised work. .5 is an early 20th century edging of Burano-type Venise needle lace and has horseshoe shaped picot loops on bars. .6 is a collar of 17th century English needle lace. It is made of three pieces joined with added picot edge.
