About this object

The background is in pink silk, somewhat faded but in good condition. In the center is the burial of Christ. He is wrapped in a linen sheet held by two Saints, probably one is St. Joseph of Arimethea. Behind this group stands the Virgin, St. John and Mary Magdalene. A gilt cross rises behind the Virgin and above it the Dove of the Holy Ghost with clouds. To the right and left stand Angels. The border has a long embroidered inscription and at each corner a Cherubim. A silver braid and fringe complete it.
