About this object

The background of the panel is in white satin. The padded silk crewel embroidery has been sewn to the satin ground in the colors of blue, peach, rust and green. In the center is a large basket of flowers with large scrolls on either side. Interspersed are flowers, birds, and butterflies. Along each side are large leaf and floral scrolls with flowers and bird designs and another scroll runs aross the top. The embroidery is in silk of many colors and a variety of stitches. The backing is a gold fabric with a long gold fringe at the bottom.
