About this object
The balls are cut to open. Each forms a triptych or diptych carved with some pseudo-historical scene. This roundel is a diptych. On the left side are three men drinking. One tips a large tankard upwards. On the right there are men with a cannon, possibly dressed in 15-16th century Spanish military costume.
