About this object

The shaft of the lamp is baluster shaped and made in ivory. It is in two sections that are marked by ormolu leaves, and stands on a tall five-sided pedestal made in tortoise shell, with the top edged with ormolu, and the sides indented. At the corners are five slender, baluster-shaped columns in ivory. All of the columns are resting on a five-sided plinth edged on top with ivory, and the sides in tortoiseshell, and framed in ormolu. It rests on five lion-paw feet made in ormolu. There are three bulbs and an ivory finial shaped like a melon. It has a lace shade.
