About this object

The central portion of the vase is round. It rests on a pedestal foot decorated with reclining cupids and leaf scrolls. The elaborate cover ends in a rosebud finial. The two handles are composed of nude women leaning against a leaf scroll. On the main body of the vase are two medallions, one on the front and the other on the back. They are carved in relief with an allegorical figure surrounded by cupids and various trophies and symbols.
