About this object

On the cover is a scene of a wagon drawn by three horses in summer, the driver raising his whip to strike a man trying to race out of the troika's path. The woman is young and dressed a peasant, the driver wears a coachman's top hat, and the young man in rubashka and striped trousers has lost his hat as he tries to flee. Sides are lacquered black and the interior red. At front is a place for strking matches.
