About this object

Case has more or less the shape of a wallet. Lacquer is black, interior has traces of gilding. Outside is covered with a fish scale design in silver wire. On lid is an oval medallion intended for an intial. Forward edge of the lid and hinge are in silver. Around ends are strips of ribbed silver. Brads are in silver.
