About this object

The sides of the box are polished. The cover is painted with a scene in a forest with huntsmen, horses, and dogs. The men and women are all dressed in 18th century costume. They are in a forest. In the foreground is a group of four ment with two dogs who are moving towards the right where the dogs sense prey. In the center background is a tree with a group of people and a horseman circling it. The left background has another group of hunters. There is a design at the four corners of the lid and in the center of each side.
