About this object

The body of the box is oval and bulges in the upper part. The bottom is a piece of brass which turns up over the bottom edge. There is one strand of chanelling around the lower leg. The cover is wood with a brass hinge and cork lining. On the cover is an oval brass medallion. Around the upper edge is a piece of ivory that is inscribed.
