About this object

The cover and sides of the rectangular box are decorated with floral and leaf scrolls in straw. The top has a large flower arrangement done in straw. The interior is in better condition. There is a mirror inside the cover. There is also an interior tray with partitions which creates six compartments for sewing materials. Two of the compartments have cushions for pins. They are decorated with floral motifs and leaf scrolls. Below this is a lift-up cover with a village scene done in straw. On the underside of this cover is a picture of a bird feeding its young in a nest. The bottom of the interior has a harbor scene with sailing vessels and row boats.
