About this object

The side chairs are made in the George II style. At the top of the back is a carved scroll in the round and a leaf scroll in low relief. The shaped splat is inserted with a silver shield cut with a coat-of-arms. There are two scrolls in the round on the splat, similar to one on top of chair back. It has a removable seat upholstered in brown leather. There is a carved shell motif and leaves on the front of the seat frame. It stands on cabriole front legs with carved fan motif and scrolls. The back legs are plain and outsplayed. It has four webbed feet.
