About this object
The chest is a type of chest called a Campaign chest because it was transported by an officer on a military campaign. The rectangular top is plain with rounded corners. The two top drawers are half length while the three drawers below are full width. All are fitted with brass handles that lie flush with the surface of the wood. They all have key holes as well. Both the top and bottom have a brass band along the edge. There are no feet except for flat blocks of wood under the corners. There is also a plain brass handle at either side.
