About this object

The dropleaf table is made in the Adam style. The top has a painted oval medallion in its center. It shows a female figure and three putti in grisaille. This is surrounded by a leaf garland. There are two extensions to the table top which are painted with small medallions showing heads. Around the edge is a border in darker wood painted with morning glories. There is a freize drawer which is decorated with swags in carved gilded wood. It stnads on four round tapered fluted legs with a curved x-shaped stretcher in gilded wood joining themn. There is an oval medallion at the crossing.
