About this object

The commode is made in the Adam style. The top is fitted with a piece of glass and is painted with a greenish border of fruit and flower garlands. On the upper section of the top front is a rectangular panel with a carved urn in relief with eagle handles. This has carved panels on either side with scrolls and floral motifs. There are four carved gilt wood pilasters topped by rams heads which end in the feet of the commode. Two are at the back corners and the other two are in the middle front.
