About this object

The chair is very large. The top of the back is carved as a pointed arch topped by a fat bud-shaped finial. The edge is decorated with a running flame/leaf carving. In the center are trefoils, quatrefoils and a round medallion containing the winged lion of St. Mark carved in high relief. The arms end in lion heads. The seat is semi-circular in shape. The front and back legs are carved as pairs of scrolls. There are three stretchers. The back, seat and arms are upholstered in black leather.
