About this object

Louis XVI carved, painted and gilded pliant. The X-shaped supports are framed of swirl fluted collnettes having deep collars of acanthus leaves, conjoined to a drum travers and collared with strapwork enclosing florettes. Supports in the form of scrolled yokes carved with leafage bearing rose stems. Painted white and encircled with gilding.
