About this object

The back frame is an oval medallion with a beaded inner border and a kymation outer border. The medallion is attached at each side to the frame of the seat by a cluster of acanthus leaves. The frame of the seat is narrower at the back than at the front and curves outward on three sides, the front curving still more. This frame is carved with a series of overlapping leaves border on each side by beading. Acanthus leaves are carved at the four corners. The legs are channelled.
