About this object

The wood is flame mahogany. The top has a low railing of openwork circles in gilt bronze; below this, a drawer with a band in openwork gilt bronze with alternating foliage and arched motifs; the band is beaded on all sides. Below, the body is in two sections; the smaller upper section is a cupboard with a double door split off-center with an elaborate keyhole in gilt bronze made of floral garlands; the lower larger section has a single door also with an elaborate keyhole sorrounded by cornucopias and an urn. All the panels are outlined with a very narrow band of small beading in gilt bronze. The channeled, rounded fore corners contain floral sprays in gilt bronze at top and bottom; the short, tapering legs have gilt bornze bands.
