About this object

The table has an upper section topped with a brass railing. This section consists of two cupboards, and a shallow drawer with an open shelf between them. The table rests on cabriole legs that taper down to gilt bronze sabots shaped like acanthus leaves. The piece is veneered with marquetry panels all around. The doors and sides of the cupboards have each a vessel containing a bunch of flowers. The shallow drawer, the back and the upper section and all four panels of the table represent rows of ceramic vessels of varied shapes. The table has one drawer fitted inside with a leather writing pad, and a compartment to the right for writing utensils.
