About this object

The tops are in a reddish mottled marble. On the front across the top is a brass interlace of large and small circles, the larger ones centering an ormolu rosette. The door for the one shelf compartment has a large marquetry picture framed by curtains drawn back and tied with cords. In the center is a table on which there are a tall and a low vase, each filled with flowers, writing materials, a sealed letter and several books. This panel has an ormolu rosette in each corner and a brass frame. The rounded corners are mounted at the top with foliate chutes, and with rosettes at the bottom. The middle section is fluted and fitted with chandelles.
