About this object

The shape of the body is triangular, supported on bracket feet. The top is covered with a grey veined white marble. At the top of the front is a frieze of lattice in marquetry which also covers most of the large single door. In the center of the door is a cluster of objects with leaves and flowers tied with a ribbon and suspended from a bowknot, and tassels hanging below. In the cluster is a harp, flute, drum, trumpet, and a jester's baton. The door is framed by a strip of striped wood which also covers the curving sides; acanthus leaves mounts decorate the top corners, and a leafy mount with a cartouche in the center decorates the apron below.
